Our AUP is aligned with and complementary to Vercel's Acceptable Use Policy. Violations of either policy may result in action against your account.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not use Vercel Managed to host, distribute, or link to the following types of content:

Illegal Content

  • Content that violates any applicable laws or regulations
  • Content that infringes on intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, patent)
  • Content related to illegal gambling or unlicensed gaming operations
  • Content promoting illegal drug sales or controlled substances
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or exploitation of minors

Malicious Content

  • Malware, viruses, trojans, or other malicious software
  • Phishing pages or credential harvesting sites
  • Scam or fraud websites
  • Content designed to exploit security vulnerabilities
  • Command and control (C2) servers for botnets

Spam and Abuse

  • Bulk unsolicited email (spam) operations
  • Sites used for sending spam or phishing emails
  • Link farms or content designed solely for SEO manipulation
  • Fake reviews or review manipulation services

Harmful Content

  • Content promoting violence, terrorism, or hate speech
  • Harassment, bullying, or doxxing content
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery
  • Disinformation campaigns or coordinated inauthentic behavior

3. Resource Abuse

You may not use Vercel Managed resources in ways that negatively impact our infrastructure or other users:

Prohibited Activities

  • Cryptocurrency Mining: Using our infrastructure to mine cryptocurrency or similar computational tasks
  • Excessive Bandwidth: Deliberate abuse of bandwidth allocations through large file hosting or video streaming beyond intended use
  • DDoS Attacks: Launching denial-of-service attacks or participating in coordinated attacks
  • Proxy Services: Running open proxies or unauthorized VPN services
  • Resource Hogging: Artificially consuming server resources to the detriment of other users

Fair Use Guidelines

  • Use resources reasonably and in proportion to your subscription tier
  • Optimize your applications to minimize unnecessary resource consumption
  • Contact us if you anticipate unusual traffic spikes or resource needs
  • Respect rate limits and API quotas

4. Security and Privacy

You must respect the security and privacy of others:

  • Do not attempt to access systems or data you are not authorized to access
  • Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without permission
  • Do not interfere with other users' access to our services
  • Implement appropriate security measures for your own applications
  • Promptly report any security vulnerabilities you discover

5. Consequences of Violations

Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in the following actions:

Warning

For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning and request that you remedy the issue within a specified timeframe.

Suspension

For serious or repeated violations, we may temporarily suspend your account or specific deployments while the issue is being addressed.

Termination

For severe violations or failure to address previous warnings, we may permanently terminate your account without refund. This includes immediate termination for hosting illegal content or malware.

We reserve the right to take immediate action without prior notice for severe violations that pose a risk to our infrastructure, other users, or third parties.

6. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of content or activities that violate this policy, please report them to us:

  • We will investigate all reports and take appropriate action
